Craig Gooding co-founded Vibrant in 2000, serving as Chief Commercial Officer until 2009, when he moved into the role of Chairman. He leads a team of 200 employees in the US and Europe and oversees the strategy and execution of business and product development, marketing and sales. In his tenure, Vibrant has grown its publishing partner base to more than 6,600 and has forged long-term relationships with top advertisers, including Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Microsoft, General Motors and IBM. In 2010, Craig was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award.
Under Craig’s leadership, the company’s rapid growth and development has propelled it to become the world leader in contextual products and technology. Vibrant has been named one of the fastest-growing companies in the UK by Media Momentum for three consecutive years, one of the best places to work in the US by Advertising Age and the Highest Rated Media Brand by Advertiser Perceptions.
Prior to Vibrant, Craig was AOL Europe’s E-commerce Manager and leading dealmaker. He has 20 years of publishing, media and Internet experience across AOL, CompuServe, ICQ and Netscape, where he played an integral role in the launch of Netscape Online. He has a B.A. in Humanities from the University of Lincoln.
Doug is the Co-CEO of Vibrant, and is based in San Francisco. As the co-founder of Vibrant, Doug has co-led the company’s expansion with Craig Gooding from when the company began operations in 2000.
Doug was awarded ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ from Ernst and Young and was a Distinguished Honoree for the International Business Awards, Executive of the Year in North America.
Prior to founding Vibrant, Doug worked at AOL Europe as Head of E-commerce and has twenty-five years of publishing, media and Internet experience with AOL, CompuServe, Netscape, Haymarket Publishing and BBC Magazines/Redwood Publishing.
Robin Halliday is the CFO for Vibrant Media. With many years of experience as CFO/Finance Director of both public and private companies, and over 20 years of hands on experience in the technology sector, Robin manages Vibrant’s Finance division, and is instrumental in spearheading global growth, operational and financial efficiencies and improvements. Robin is a qualified Chartered Accountant having trained with Price Waterhouse and has significant international experience having worked abroad in continental Europe and the USA.
Robin is highly experienced in the venture capital and private equity worlds having been involved with numerous businesses that are VC/PE backed, before joining Vibrant. He has in depth, first-hand experience of assisting these companies to raise new funds, complete acquisitions, make disposals and complete an exit for shareholders.
Prior to joining Vibrant, Robin also worked within the financial services market unit of Accenture and led Axon Group plc to a full LSE listing, winning the FT new company of the year in the process before taking the company into both the FTSE 250 and TechMARK 100 indices.
Julie Fenster is General Counsel at Vibrant Media, and founder of the Office of Julie R. Fenster, a boutique legal practice specializing in the legal and business aspects of the rapidly converging worlds of publishing, broadcasting and Internet information services, advertising, direct marketing and e-commerce. She has over 15 years of experience working with companies in digital media and technology.
Prior to founding the Office of Julie R. Fenster, Julie served as VP, Business Affairs & General Counsel at Everyday Health, Inc., a leading online health information services company. Previously, she was VP, Law and Business Affairs at Time Inc. New Media. She also held leadership positions as General Manager at ParentTime LLC, and EVP, Strategy and Business Development at Worth Interactive. Julie began her legal career at the leading firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett.
She is currently a member of the New York state bar and former President of the Board of the Center for Children’s Initiatives, Inc. Julie studied at St. Hilda’s College, Oxford University, earned an AB at Brown University, and received a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Toby Doig has over 20 years’ experience managing teams and developing software, primarily in the advertising and media sectors. He joined Vibrant Media in January 2000 as part of the original technology team and spent the next 10 years focussed on building their contextual ad-server platform. He took a break in 2011 but returned in September 2014 as Vibrant’s CTO where he now leads the global Technology team.
Prior to Vibrant Media, Toby has worked with organisations such as Turn, TagMan, Virgin Internet, Sky, Oxford University and the MultiMedia Corporation.
Since 2006, Jochen Urban has been Managing Director of Vibrant Media BmbH in Hamburg. After his business studies he gained over 12 years of working experience in the areas of business consulting, finance for growth in small and medium-sized companies and start-ups, as well as the media and Internet industries. He is an expert in brand building online and brand engagement for future online advertising success.
Helen Mussard is the Global Marketing Director for Vibrant Media. With over 13 years of experience in marketing, Helen leads a global team responsible for Vibrant’s marketing strategy, events, advertising, public relations and market research projects. Helen also leads the content marketing studio at Vibrant. Being a member of both the IAB’s native and content marketing task forces, Helen advises brands on their content marketing strategies to produce engaging content for their target audience. Now based in London, Helen spent over two years working in Vibrant’s NYC Headquarters.
Prior to joining Vibrant in New York, Helen lived in London and Berlin working both agency-side and in-house for TV channels, government organizations and digital start-ups. Helen has a B.A. (Hons) in International Business and a post graduate qualification in Market Research.
Fiona Salmon has more than 18 years’ experience specialising in Sales, Strategic Partnerships, Publishing, Business Development and Thought Leadership. As the VP of Global Business Development, Fiona leads the publisher team in building Vibrant’s Global Publisher network across all products, which now reach over 6,600 sites. She also actively consults on business direction and provides valuable input on new product launches.
Prior to joining Vibrant, Fiona spent over 10 years at a number of Blue Chip media owners including Trinity Mirror, Bauer and News International. Fiona has a Bsc (Hons) degree in Geology from University College London.
Christoph von Reibnitz is the VP Sales D.A.CH. (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) at Vibrant Media. He has been working in the media industry at various well-known companies such as Axel Springer, United Internet Media or G+J for 15 years where he was responsible for Cross-Media Sales, Digital Paid Services and Business Development. At Vibrant, Christoph leads the Sales teams based in Hamburg, Dusseldorf and Munich and oversees all Sales related business processes including strategy, Key Account Management and agency operations within the three markets.
Christoph holds a Law degree and a M.B.A. in General Management.
John Irvine has more than 20 years’ experience in cross-media sales including digital and social media, content marketing, and print, with an expertise in developing and building Auto partnerships. As VP of Sales for Vibrant Media, John leads both the Sales teams in Detroit, MI USA and Toronto Canada.
Prior to joining Vibrant, John lived and worked in both Detroit and Chicago for Time Inc., BabyCenter.com and Say Media, as well as working at Hearst Publications in Detroit on Car and Driver and Road & Track.
Simon Gamble has been working in Digital Media for over ten years and has dedicated eight years to developing Vibrant Media’s International business. Based in the UK Simon specializes in Vibrant’s global and emerging market expansion and has established trusted relationships with key clients and agencies across his tenure.
After successfully launching Vibrant in Australia in 2009/10, Simon went on to head up the sales team for the EMEA region, before overseeing the development of a brand-new team to cover Vibrant’s expansion into APAC, notably Singapore and Hong Kong. As of 2016, Simon is now Commercial Director for the UK, EMEA, and APAC where he leads the teams in building and maintaining relationships and growing revenue, at both client and agency level.
Coming from a creative background, Simon studied Product Design Visualisation at Bournemouth University, gaining a BA 2:1. Upon graduating Simon worked for Aston Martin within the exterior design team on both the Vanquish and DB9 series.
Brian McFarland has more than 23 years’ experience in cross-media sales including digital and social media, content marketing and print. As Eastern Sales Director for Vibrant Media, Brian leads the NYC-based Sales operation to develop the entire East Coast.
Brian began his advertising career on the agency side at FCB/LKP, before moving on to build sales operations and revenues for Good Housekeeping, Country Home, and Rolling Stone. In 2007, Brian embarked on a journey to build/progress and re-build East Coast sales operations for several organizations and is doing just that currently, in his role at Vibrant Media.
