Bob Hammond, Former Yahoo! VP of Engineering, To Head Technology for Contextual Advertising Leader

NEW YORK, May 05, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Brian Acton, Long-time Yahoo VP of Engineering, to Join Vibrant Advisory Board

Vibrant, a contextual advertising leader and provider of the next generation of hyperlinks, announced today that Bob Hammond, vice president of engineering for the Video Syndication Platforms Group at Yahoo!, joins the company as senior vice president for technology. Bob Hammond will be responsible for running Vibrant's business systems, algorithms, technical operations, database administration and product management. Hammond's team will span Vibrant's offices in the United States, London, Germany and France.

At the same time, long-time Yahoo! engineer Brian Acton will join Vibrant's Advisory Board to provide counsel and expertise as Vibrant scales its contextual technologies. At Yahoo!, Acton was chief architect of Project Panama and leader of the Advertiser and Publisher Applications Group, an organization of 300+ software engineers building web applications, infrastructure systems, internal tools and reports to provide the best experience for advertisers and publishers online.

Hammond joined Yahoo! when the company acquired the video publishing platform, Maven Networks. At Yahoo!, he was responsible for the design and development of video services for Yahoo! properties. As vice president, engineering at Maven, Hammond was in charge of the design and development of Maven's video publishing platform and ad platform products. Prior to that, Hammond served as chief technology officer at Mirror Image Internet, a global network that provided content delivery, streaming media, web computing and reporting solutions, where he worked from 1998 to 2005. His previous experience included years at Planet Direct, Hewlett Packard/Apollo Computer, and Compugraphic Corporation.
