Technical Requirements

For all VIA campaigns the following components should be supplied:

Selected Keywords:
Up to 100 core words per campaign, with a recommended minimum of 25

Creative:
  • Advertisers can supply either 3rd Party Redirect tags or Creative that meets the Technical Specifications below.
  • Larger video streaming creative is acceptable when delivered via specialist rich media platforms e.g. Motif, Tangozebra, Eyeblaster, Pointroll.
  • 3rd Party tags must be unrestricted with no geo-targeting or capping.
  • Max 3 Loops.

Technical Specifications

Skyscraper (wide) Specs

  • Image Dimensions: 120 x 600 or 160 x 600 pixels (wide)
  • Max File Size:
    • GIF: 40k
    • HTML/Flash: 40k (additional polite download limit 80k*) served via IFRAME.
  • Image Types: GIF, JPEG, HTML, Flash
  • Format:
    • GIF/JPEG: Default GIF/JPEG required for all HTML and Flash submissions.
    • HTML/Flash: HTML, Flash, GIF/JPEG and simple JavaScript (i.e. form validation) only.
  • Audio: User activated only, mute button required.
  • Expandable Creative:
    • Maximum dimensions expanded: 350 x 600 pixels
    • Max file size: 40k on initial load after which an additional 80k* polite download is permitted upon user interaction.
    • Expansion on mouse-over only, collapse on mouse-off.
    • Expanded element of creative must include a close button.
    • Creative supplied must be left and right expanding.
    * Subsequent files can be loaded only upon user interaction; video polite download limit is 1.2mb.

Leaderboard Specs

  • Image Dimensions: 728 x 90 pixels
  • Max File Size:
    • GIF/JPEG: 40k
    • HTML/Flash: 40k (additional polite download limit 80k*) served via
      IFRAME.
  • Image Types: GIF, JPEG, HTML, Flash
  • Format:
    • GIF/JPEG: Default GIF/JPEG required for all HTML and Flash submissions.
    • HTML/Flash: HTML, GIF/JPEG and simple JavaScript (i.e.
      form validation) only.

  • Expandable Creative:
    • Maximum dimensions expanded: 468 x 350 pixels
    • Max File Size: 40k on initial load after which an additional 80k*
      polite download is permitted upon user interaction.
    • Expansion on mouse over only, collapse on mouse off.
    • Expanded element of creative must include a close button.
    • Creative supplied must be left and right expanding.

Overlay Specs

  • Image Dimensions: 300 x 300 pixels
  • Max File Size: 80k on initial load after which an additional 160k* polite download is
    permitted upon user interaction.
  • Image Types: Flash only
  • Audio: User activated only, mute button required.
  • Requirements:
    • Overlay must have a border with close button inside the border.
    • All close buttons must be clearly visible in the top right hand corner.
    • Maximum 10s running time, if no user interaction.
