What the check looks at
It reads what any visitor can see and answers four questions.
- Is your blog still alive? The date of your latest article and how many you published in the last 90 and 365 days. It uses publication dates, so editing an old post doesn't count as new.
- Is your latest article ready for Google? Whether it has a title, a meta description and one H1.
- Can AI search reach your site? Whether your robots.txt closes it to GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot or PerplexityBot.
- Do your titles answer buyer questions? A model reads your latest article titles and names the biggest gap it can see.
How to read the result
Active means you published in the last 45 days. Slowing down means nothing new in over 45 days. Silent means nothing new in over 180 days.
These cut-offs are our own rule of thumb, not a Google ranking rule. The check doesn't measure rankings or traffic, and it can't tell you how good an article is. The judgement on titles is an estimate from titles alone.
What it can't see
The check finds your blog through its RSS or Atom feed. If your blog has no feed, we'll say we couldn't find one, which doesn't mean you have no blog. Feeds usually list only recent articles, so a count marked "or more" is a minimum.
